About SPIRITON Renaissance International

SPIRITON-RI was started due to the urgent need for a new paradigm of education. The steady decline of values in society as evident in the escalation of juvenile delinquency and other crimes begs us to ponder upon the quality of the education we have in schools today.

Although people are becoming more literate and technology-savvy, the finer qualities of human behaviour are left abegging. Hence, the primary objective of SPIRITON-RI is to make a difference in the world today and for future generations to come.

This can be achieved by a holistic approach to life and living, not one based on a mechanistic model of life where everything is reduced to atoms and molecules, but one based on sound values.

SPIRITON refers to the anti-material particle of life, which cannot be measured in physical terms. The term 'spiriton' was coined by the legendary pilgrim of peace Dr. T.D. Singh, founding member of the United Religions Initiative (URI), International Director of the Bhaktivedanta Institute, and also pioneer of the Science & Spirituality dialogue.

Dr. Singh worked tirelessly to establish that 'Life comes from Life' and the 'God is a Person', through his numerous meetings and dialogues with the greatest thinkers and scientists of our time such as Charles Townes, William Phillips, Desmond Tutu, Linus Pauling. the Dalai Lama and Michael Behe.

SPIRITON RENAISSANCE INTERNATIONAL strongly believes that values-based education is much needed in society today. SPIRITON-RI is committed to working with schools and families to inculcate a culture where the imparting of essential life-long values is the focus of the curriculum at home and in school.

One such school supported by SPIRITON RENAISSANCE INTERNATIONAL's education services is Bhaktivedanta Dharma School, a not-for-profit kindergarten and primary school in Denpasar-Bali . Among the services provided by SPIRITON-RI include teacher training workshops and assessment, parent education, curriculum design and road mapping. SPIRITON RENAISSANCE INTERNATIONAL works with teachers and parents to connect with children. Essentially, good communication and investing time in the lives of the children are the simplest yet most effective solutions to the problems we see in society today.

SPIRITON-RI conducts seminars and workshops on 'Positive Discipline' and 'Connecting with Children' in addition to other character development programs.

Critical Thinking Workshop @ The Substation, 45 Armenian Street 28 January 2012

We are delighted to inform the first professional development workshop for 2012 on critical thinking based on Socrates Thinking and Questioning in the classroom. This course will be conducted by Dr Kumar Laxman, who active works with teachers on student-centred learning strategies in the classroom. Dr Kumar Laxman received his PhD in instructional design and technology from MacQuarie University in Australia. He was also formerly with the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
